Restaurants

From Fine Portland Dining to Fresh Local Food Enjoyed Seaside

A rumor amongst locals in Portland is that the city has more restaurants per capita than any other city in the United States, besides San Francisco. Whether it’s lore or the truth, visitors will have to decide. for themselves. With well over 200 restaurants to choose from, by the time they’ve either confirmed or denied the rumor, they’ll have forgotten about the mission altogether and will instead be enjoying a very full stomach.

CULINARY TOURISTS, MARK YOUR CALENDARS

Culinary travelers seeking to sample the best local award-winning chefs have to offer will find Harvest on the Harbor a perfect destination in October. It is one of the area’s biggest food and wine showcases of talented chefs and local delicacies. Travelers can also plan to visit during Maine Restaurant Week, when restaurants and hotels alike roll out the red carpet for one week in March. Chefs give their customers the royal treatment and offer tasting menus for appealing fixed prices.
