Willard Beach, a 4-acre sandy beach in South Portland, is a favorite among locals. Come to Willard to relax in the sand or take a leisurely swim.
Scarborough Beach offers some of the best swimming in New England with water temps in the high 60’s throughout July and August.
Pine Point Beach
Pine Point Beach is a sandy beach on Saco Bay 4 miles from the jetty at Pine Point to Old Orchard Beach—relax on the beach, swim, or take a stroll.
Old Orchard Beach
On the pier, visitors can shop, eat, play games of skill, enjoy the nightlife, go dancing, watch fireworks, and listen to concerts.
Higgins Beach retains a small-town feel where fisherman put in a line, kayakers paddle out, and walkers admire the classic New England scenery.
The gorgeous haven of Ferry Beach, a sandy beach along the Scarborough River channel, comes with a small fee ($10 per car) but is worth the price.
East End Beach
East End Beach is the place to take in the panorama of Casco Bay. This stretch of sand and pebbles has parking, picnic tables, and benches.
Crescent Beach in the nearby town of Cape Elizabeth, is located eight miles south of Portland on Route 77 with grass-studded sand dunes.
