With a mission to inspire and equip everyone to get outside, REI has grown from a small shelf in a gas station to a community of over 25 million members. The co-op’s history is built on collective effort, where members sewed products and organized events to protect the environment. Today, members remain at the heart of the organization, with their shared love for the outdoors shaping the company and its offerings. REI continues to encourage people to “opt outside” and connect with nature.
