Tenth largest visitor attraction in the state of Maine and named one of the top 12 children’s museums in the U.S. by Forbes Magazine, the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine is poised for significant growth in its new location. The theatre program—the oldest, continuously operating children’s theatre in the nation—will occupy a 100-seat auditorium in our new building.

The Museum & Theatre offers experiential discovery, playful education, and joyful exploration in performing and visual arts, science, and culture for children, teens, families, teachers, and caregivers.

Participatory online educational programming-including At Home Together livestreaming, Maine Youth Playwriting Challenge Online, WCTM Kids Newscast, and customized school programs-continue to serve the community.
