MAINE RED CLAWS
The Maine Red Claws are the NBA D-League affiliate of the Boston Celtics. The team plays its home games at the Portland Exposition Building. PORTLAND SEA DOGS
Portland Sea Dogs are the Eastern League Double A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. They play all home games at Hadlock Field in Portland, and consistently draw over 400,000 fans each summer. With group discounts, a game is perfect for family outings & corporate events – they even have Sea Dogs Birthday Parties for kids under 12 who would love a ballpark celebration.
Maine Mariners
The Mariners are a professional ice hockey team based in Portland. The ECHL has grown into a coast-to-coast league with 27 teams. Games are played in downtown Portland surrounded by restaurants and shops, the Cross Insurance Arena, a Spectra managed facility that is a multi-purpose sports & entertainment venue.

Those traveling in and outside the city will find other exciting options in the realm of spectator sports. Maine Roller Derby, Maine’s first women’s flat track roller derby league, holds bouts during their season in arenas all around Portland. Maine also offers two historical harness and thoroughbred race tracks, in Bangor and Scarborough, and is host to numerous skiing and snowboarding events at its many ski resorts throughout the winter. In the northern area of the state, winter sports lovers will find dog sledding races, pond hockey played on Maine’s frozen lakes and ponds, even toboggan races when the season permits.
