Americans are Prioritizing Travel

Longwoods International released their 100th American Travel Sentiment study. Below are four key takeaways from their findings:54% of travels either strongly agree or agree that they are ‘willing to reduce spending in other areas of my life to prioritize travel’, which indicates that despite financial concerns, travel is still top-of-mind for many travelers.

Travel demand reminans high with 91% of American travelers indicating plans to go somewhere in the next six months.

Three-quarter (75%) of travelers either strongly agree or agree that ‘Vacations are one of the things I most look forward to each year.’

One-third (32%) of travelers report that ‘travel is more important to me now’ after the COVID-19 pandemic, while only 11% report ‘travel is less important to me now.’

Kind Words from a Recent Visitor

Thank you for a great experience this past week (Tuesday, September 2) when my wife and I were able to visit your community when the Enchanted Princess stopped in Portland. We typically avoid the pre-determined excursions and instead look for someone local to show us the town. The Visitor Center folks that greeted us and helped us get started were beyond fantastic. Every single person was so kind, helpful and very friendly. What a fantastic first impression…. we were especially interested in seeing the Portland Head Light Lighthouse and boy did “Bob” our driver deliver. That was probably the best tour guide we have ever had… and we have had dozens over the years.

Your community seemed to welcoming, the parks were amazing, it was so clean, and the history of Portland far exceeded what I knew.

I don’t know exactly who to “thank” but I hope you will help me get this to those who made such a fantastic impression on us.

Appreciatively, Mark
