Founded in 1969, the (GPCOG) is a voluntary organization with a distinguished history of service to the municipalities and public service agencies of the Greater Portland region. GPCOG serves Maine’s most populated and diverse region, stretching east to Casco Bay, west to Sebago Lake, south to Scarborough and north to West Bath.

About Us

GPCOG offers a range of planning and municipal services and programs in the following areas:

Transportation and Land Use; Cooperative Services; Data Center, including Census; Economic & Community Development; Revolving Loan Fund Programs; Regional Corridor Coalitions; Mapping and GIS; Meeting facilitation; Issues forums.

GPCOG programs and services are funded through a combination of member dues, service fees, and state and federal grants. Member dues represent less than 10% of GPCOG’s total annual budget.
