Yoga at the Fort

Fort Gorges, a Civil-War-era fort in the middle of Casco Bay, is one of the most fascinating places to explore in the area and it’s only accessible by small boat! We’ll start off this guided trip with a paddle into Portland harbor then make the crossing to the Fort. You’ll land on a beach by the fort’s entrance and explore its elegant granite halls and dark passageways before you begin your yoga class in the grassy, calm parade grounds of the fort where you’ll stretch, strengthen and rejuvenate!

-Visit historic Fort Gorges, who else can say they paddled to a historic fort on an island for a yoga class?
-Possible sightings of seals, eider ducks, guillemots, osprey, eagles and all sorts of seabirds
-Roughly two hours of slow to moderate-paced sea kayaking; appropriate for novices
-Possible splashing and dripping during the paddle — you may get slightly damp or wet.
-Please keep in mind that Fort Gorges is a historical structure that is not currently maintained, so there are no bathroom facilities and there are unlit areas that require caution when exploring.
