Troy R. Bennett is a longtime Maine writer and photojournalist with an abiding interest in music and Portland history. Bennett has covered the city for the Bangor Daily News since 2012.
Beginning in 2012, he began producing a series of weekly online videos for the BDN focusing on Portland history. The videos often featured Bennett singing and playing the banjo, leading colleagues to dub him the “BDN Banjournalist.”Join Troy for a lively talk and sing-along about local history including the Cumberland and Oxford Canal, which began at Stroudwater.

Refreshments will be offered throughout the reception. The evening will close with a toast featuring switchel, a non-alcoholic drink from the colonial era.
