Join us to celebrate the inaugural William David Barry Memorial Lecture, made possible through the generous support of the H. H. & J. Holverson Trust, whose 2024 gift established this annual program in memory of William David Barry. We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Jamie L. Brummitt, historian of American religion and material culture, and author of the forthcoming Protestant Relics in Early America (Oxford University Press, 2025). Dr. Brummitt will explore how relics, remembrance, and reverence shaped early American identity, offering a fresh perspective through stories and artifacts drawn from Maine and beyond. The morning will include celebratory remarks marking the launch of this special new lecture series honoring the legacy of William David Barry, along with refreshments following the program.
