Do you believe in ghosts? Lived in and loved from 1786 until 1901, the Wadsworth-Longfellow House has seen much of life and of death. For the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, his childhood home was one of palpable memories of family and friends, including those he missed and mourned. How did families like his encounter death from day to day? How did they say goodbye to loved ones and preserve their memories? Did they believe they could communicate with their dearly departed? Join us in conjuring the memories of those who breathed their last within these walls with a special and spooky eventide tour that will savor the spirit of Longfellow’s poetry and recall the rituals and ghosts of long ago…you never know whom you might encounter…
