On Friday, September 19 and Saturday, September 20, 2025, the Tall Ship Lynx—a replica of an 1812 privateer schooner from Nantucket– will sail into Casco Bay to reenact one of the most significant events in our city’s past: the Burning of Falmouth by the British 250 years ago.

  • Saturday morning harbor bombardment reenactment, free to the public, with opening remarks and viewing from the Maine State Pier 10:00-11:00 am

  • “Walk the Deck” tour of the Lynx at a low admission price, bringing history to life for families and visitors. 12 noon- 3:00 pm DiMillo’s Marina $10 members,
$12 non members, veterans and 12 and under free.

  • “Flames to Freedom” reception on Saturday afternoon aboard Lynx at the dock, featuring light refreshments, sea shanties and “Burning and Falmouth” songs by Castlebay, crew members and museum friends in period attire, and a short reflection on the events of 1775. 4:30- 7:00 pm DiMillo’s Marina $125 members, $150 non-members
