Sit back, relax, and enjoy a scenic roundtrip train ride – right in downtown Portland! You’ll take in spectacular views of Casco Bay and the Calendar Islands, as well as forts, parks, a beach, and much more. You’ll also learn the fascinating history of narrow gauge railroading in Maine. Our friendly, helpful crew are here to welcome you! Don’t miss year-round special events including the Ice Cream Train, Sunset Express, and Polar Express Train Ride™.

Scenic trains run weekends in May, daily from Memorial Day to October 29. Trains depart at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, and 5pm.

Between June 2 and Labor Day, special event trains run every weekend. Ice Cream Trains run every Friday evening at 6pm and 7pm. The Sunset Express runs every Saturday at 6pm and 7pm.

Bonus special events include the Pride Train, Independence Limited, Pumpkin Train, and the magical Polar Express Train Ride™. All the info can be found at MaineNarrowGauge.org.

Trains run in all weather conditions.

Note: Maine Narrow Gauge does not provide parking. Street parking and paid lots are available in a short walking distance. Check with the City of Portland for the latest parking info.
