Easy access to direct flights, trains, buses, and major highways, it’s never been easier to get here and get around once you arrive. You’ll be surprised at how close Greater Portland, Maine is to connector cities—just two hours from Boston and four hours from New York City.
The Portland International Jetport is conveniently located just three miles from downtown and offers nonstop flights to over a dozen cities across the US, Canada, and worldwide. Many places to stay in Portland, Maine offer free shuttle service. Rental car, taxi, limo services are available on-site. You can also take advantage of our brochure rack, located next to baggage claim, filled with Visitor Guides and brochures from area business for your convenience.
Greater Portland is serviced by national and regional bus lines, like Concord Coach Lines, that offers numerous routes to Maine. Or ride the rails on the Amtrak Downeaster—passenger train service between Boston and Brunswick. The transportation options are endless!
The Greater Portland Metro offers convenient public transportation from outlying areas to downtown, and Casco Bay Lines provides regular ferry service to the nearby islands. Portland Trails maintains a network of bicycle and pedestrian routes throughout the region such as the Greenbelt Trail on which you can reach several parks in South Portland.
