Where to Celebrate Pride in Greater Portland This Year

Just another facet of what makes living in Greater Portland so great is the inclusive, welcoming, and embracing community that brightens the fabric of our city by the sea and charming area towns. Locals and those considering moving to Maine may already know – we celebrate love all year long, but during Pride we pull out all the stops. Not sure what you’re doing this year? Let’s change that.

1.    2024 PRIDE PARADE AND FESTIVAL | “Life as Art”

JUNE 15, 2024

This annual parade and festival, put on y Pride! Portland unites individuals across Greater Portland and beyond to celebrate and recognize the achievements of the LGBTQ+ movement while shedding light on the ongoing challenges. The aim is to cultivate an atmosphere of inclusivity, accessibility, and solidarity for all participants.

The Pride Festival will then be held at Deering Oaks Park from 1pm to 5pm. Parade starts at Monument Square at 1pm, proceeds along Congress Street to Congress Square Park, down High Street to Park Avenue, where it enters Deering Oaks Park by Mellen Street. This event will last roughly an hour. Learn more.


2.   Pride Bar Crawl

JUNE 22, 2024

Get out and have some fun while expressing your true self in a safe, welcoming space. This event is more than just a pub crawl – it’s an empowering celebration of diversity, inclusion, and love. So, come and meet some new friends and be part of a community that celebrates you.

Enjoy handpicked inclusive bars, exclusive drink specials, and freebies that are available only to our Pride Bar Crawl participants. A portion of every ticket sold goes directly to Pride Non-Profit Organizations nationwide, supporting those in the LGBTQIA+ community. Learn more.


3.   Pride Dance Party at State Theatre

JUNE 15, 2024

The Big GAY Dance Party is back and bigger than ever as the State Theatre is turned into the largest dance floor in the city. This event features two amazing DJs, go-go dancers, dance performances, VIP lounge, and announcing our VERY special guest Plane Jane, star of the current season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Learn more.

4. Pride Train with Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad

JUNE, 2024

Celebrate Pride on the narrow gauge rails! Visit Maine Narrow Gauge for one of the state’s most unique Pride experiences. On June 17, trains will depart at 6pm and 7pm for a scenic outing along Casco Bay. During the 40 minute trip, you’ll get amazing views of Portland’s waterfront, as well as interact with friendly, welcoming volunteers and staff.
