Casco Bay Lines

We provide year-round ferry service for the Casco Bay Island Transit District, carrying passengers, vehicles and freight between Portland, Maine and the islands of Peaks, Little Diamond, Great Diamond, Long, Chebeague, and Cliff. We also offer scenic cruises, summertime music cruises, private charters, and lobster bakes. Join us and see where the Maine coast really begins.

About Us

Casco Bay Lines offers many opportunities to get out on the Bay with a variety of scenic trips offering different destinations, durations, and departure times. Pack a lunch; bring your camera, binoculars, and a sweater.

Choose from a family trip with the kids to explore tidal pools or wade at one of the small beach areas. Escape for a romantic lunch or dinner, a day at the beach, or bring your bike and explore island life. There truly is something for everyone!

Explore scenic Casco Bay on one of our 7 public scenic cruises: Bailey Island Cruise (5 hrs 45 min): learn the history Bailey Island Noontime Cruise (1 hr 45 min), Mail Boat Run (3 hrs), Diamond Pass (1 hr 45 min), Sunrise On The Bay (2 hrs 30 min), Sunset Run (2 hrs 30 min) and Moonlight run (1 hr 45 min) – or on our private charter boat.

In addition to the daily cruises, the island offers a number of all-day outings and quick escapes for the whole family. Escape for lunch or dinner to one of several island boasting wonderful shoreside restaurants. Island Lobsterbakes for groups of 50 to 400 are a unique way to entertain visitors and friends.
