Greater Portland enjoys such a wealth of choices for beer lovers that experiencing them all is an adventure in itself. Visitors can start by taking a beer tour, explore a local brewery, or plan around one of Maine's festivals.


Summer Session Beer Festival: Maine’s Premier Craft Beer Celebration


July 27, 2019

The Maine Brewers' Guild Summer Session is the biggest brewfest in Maine and your best chance to try Maine's best beers. All tickets include unlimited beer samples from all breweries, souvenir taster glass, and live music. Food is available for purchase from a variety of food trucks. This year is at a new venue on the oceanfront - surrounded by islands, ocean, and beaches - amidst an old fort and next to a lighthouse. You're basically inside a postcard. They will have two sessions instead of one long session. They are focused on showcasing Maine brewers - with over 100 breweries operating in Maine and our beer known 'round the world - this fest will feature breweries from Maine only and is likely to be the biggest number of Maine brewers pouring their beer in Maine all year. They are likely to have about 75 Maine breweries pouring. more

Look for the annual event in November

A series of events celebrating everything craft beer. From the brewer to the bar to the pint glass. Beer enthusiasts are all invited to join the Maine craft beer industry and local businesses as they partake in various events taking place in Portland and surrounding areas.  This week long celebration of craft beer has events all around Portland and beyond, organized and created by a local bar owner, check out the calendar for more info on specific events.  more

For those living 'the way life should be', know winter is one of the best times to be in Maine. Sure, summer gets all the glory, but winter is a special time for camaraderie and reconnecting with friends. It's also a time to drink delicious beer. This event will feature beers from Maine breweries as well as beers from around the United Kingdom – brought to Maine within the Maine Beer Box as part of our annual Global Brewers Trade initiative. Join Maine brewers for fresh beer inside the newly renovated, heated Brick South Building at Thompson's Point in Portland.  more

MAINE BEER BOX AT THE SEAPORT BEER FESTIVAL

In their third year of the global brewers trade project, Maine brewers are going to be trading beers with brewers from around the Atlantic provinces of Canada in 2019. The Seaport Beer Festival in Halifax is one of the most well-regarded beer festivals in Canada and is proudly featuring the Maine Beer Box during their August event. Join Maine brewers and Mainers for an international adventure in Canada as we pour dozens of special Maine beers for our friends in the north at this waterfront beer festival in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Craft Brew Race

August 10, 2019

The Craft Brew Races return to Portland! The Portland Craft Brew Race will be held at Edward Payson Park, with the run around Baxter Blvd and Back Cove. The Craft Brew Races are a series of timed 5k’s open to beer lovers of all speeds, and beer festivals highlighting the local craft brewing scene. The 3-hour post-race celebration features a sampling of more than 40 breweries, live music and food trucks. Beer festival only tickets are also available for those not wishing to participate in the 5k. All 5k participants and festival-goers receive a pint glass and entry to the festival. All Designated Drivers ticket holders receive a different bracelet at registration. They are welcome to enjoy the festival and designated snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.  more
