Event: Summer Kickoff Weekend

Presented by: Portland Downtown
Downtown, Portland

More About Portland Downtown:

Visit downtown Portland and experience a city filled with historic buildings, cobblestone streets, antique shops, art galleries, museums, incredible restaurants and one-of-a-kind boutiques. Uptown, a few blocks from the waterfront, is Portland's secret treasure; the Arts District. With Congress Street as its spine, this once traditional shopping street has turned into a mecca of art galleries, antique shops, and artist studios. The Old Port is the mecca of shopping in Portland. Clothing, home accessories, shoes, gifts for your pet. Souvenirs line the cobblestone streets of this historic waterfront district. Everything is in walking distance of the waterfront. Experience the quant charm of boutique shopping, one of a kind shops and restaurants serving Maine's famous lobster dishes, local specialties and the latest nouveau cuisine. Downtown Portland has an eclectic mix of hotels, many with water views, all within walking distance of the Old Port and Arts District. Our full service hotels range from rehabilitated historic buildings to contemporary design.

Come one, come all and enjoy awesome live music, arts and crafts, food from local businesses, kids’ activities and more.

Every summer, the myriad of local businesses in Portland's Old Port open their doors and line up racks of clothing, gifts, accessories and crafts, all for sale, on the sidewalk. The streets, free of cars, are filled with people visiting the hundreds of vendors and lingering at the event stages. This is Portland's Old Port Festival, a celebration that for thirty years has invited festival-goers to dance to the music of popular bands on the cobblestone streets, sip homemade lemonade and chow down on their favorite carnival foods.

As always, the Old Port Festival is a rain or shine event!
