Heralded as another major step toward making Portland a cultural destination, featuring international, national and Maine stars.

The Portland Bach Festival brings world-class music to the backyard of residents and visitors of southern Maine with a unique concert festival that was created for discriminating music aficionados as well as younger enthusiasts.

All concerts are held in intimate spaces so attendees can be close to the musicians and build an appreciation for the music. Throughout the eight-day festival (June 18-25), guests can attend house salons, concerts in the round, lectures, masterclasses, rehearsals, outdoor concerts, and Bach and Beer on the Waterfront.

The 2017 Portland Bach concerts and events include:
• The Festival Concert Series and Bach on a Blanket – The Episcopal Church of St. Mary, Falmouth
• Concerts in the Round – St. Luke’s Cathedral, State Street, Portland
• Bach and Beer and Kids’ Events – Ocean Gateway Pier, Portland (pairing of some of the best micro brews in Maine, outdoor seating on Portland’s historic waterfront, and short musical interludes by the PBF artists)
• Make Your Own Instrument – East End Community Center, North Street, Portland
• A New Concert Venue – Etz Chaim Synagogue, Congress Street, Portland
• Cantata Sing-Along – PBF and the Oratorio Chorale co-host a one-night rehearsal, concert, and party for amateur singers and music lovers in celebration of a Bach cantata.
• Masterclasses, lectures, kids’ events and parties throughout the week.
