NYA is alive with students who love to learn, explore, and grow. Their enthusiasm and commitment to excellence are evident in the classrooms, on the fields, at the ice arena, in the art studios, and on stage across our 20-acre campus.

NYA educates its students with a comprehensive program that incorporates academics, the arts, and athletics. We believe that a student’s character and development thrive in a well-rounded, supportive environment. Students are encouraged to advocate for themselves, manage their time effectively, and discover their many strengths. Their teachers are their mentors, coaches, and supporters, and they are committed to bringing out the best in every student. All sixth through twelfth grade students participate in an after school activity each season. Activities include athletics, theater, music, or other activities of their choosing.

NYA’s Lower School provides a Montessori-based education through preschool. Beginning in kindergarten, the Montessori philosophy meets formal group instruction. This approach continues to foster curiosity and motivation to learn while also preparing students for an easy transition to the Middle School at NYA.
Our students have the opportunity to explore the boundaries of creativity. With powerful computers, design software, music recording equipment, and VEX robotics hardware, technology is integrated across disciplines from kindergarten through the Upper School. Beginning in the Lower School, art is part of every student’s life through Middle School, and it continues as an elective in the Upper School.
Through our Diplomas with Distinction program, we encourage our students to take ownership of their learning. Whether music, language and culture, STEM, environmentalism, or social advocacy, our students direct their education and expand it into the global community.
