Hosted by Visit Portland during National Tourism Week, Frontline Training showcases the many attractions, tours, cruises, and services available to visitors in the Greater Portland region.

Thank you to everyone who attended and hope to see you all next year.

Known as Frontline Hospitality Orientation, this event is extremely popular and a must for all frontline personnel to attend.

What to do & see in Greater Portland. Over 60 attractions, tours, activities, and visitor services.

Who Should Attend

All personnel that help visitors are welcome. If you have been asked the question, "What should we do while we are here?” – then come join us.


Frontline Personnel Include:

  • Bellman
  • Hotel front desk staff
  • Restaurant wait staff
  • Bartenders
  • Hostesses
  • Retail cashiers
  • Information specialists
  • Train hosts
  • Museum docents
  • Tour guides

Basically... any hospitality employee that interacts directly with visitors.

This event provides frontline personnel with a broad range of information to help answer these questions with confidence.


During the trade show, attendees may sign up for a complimentary tour.

  • Optional Tours will be indicated at each participating exhibitor table
  • Tours begin at the conclusion of the trade show
  • Tours are approximately 1 hour long
