More About Convention & Visitors Bureau:

The Convention and Visitors Bureau is a not-for-profit organization charged with representing the Greater Portland region and enhancing the long-term development of communities through a travel and tourism strategy. The Convention and Visitors Bureau is a membership-based organization, bringing together businesses that rely on tourism and meetings for revenue. The mission of the Greater Portland CVB is to stimulate the economic vitality of Greater Portland by soliciting and servicing conventions, meetings, groups, and visitors and by promoting Greater Portland as a preferred destination. The vision of the Greater Portland CVB is to provide visitors with a quality experience, second to none, by fulfilling the recreational, cultural, social and spiritual expectations of the traveling public.

Phil Simon and Olga Adamovich from CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange) will speak about the holistic development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to interact effectively and appropriately across different cultures. In this interactive workshop, they will discuss how organizations can benefit by paying attention to how they manage a multicultural workplace.
Speaker Bios

Originally from Belarus, Olga Adamovich has called Maine home for the past 10 years. Olga is currently a Manager of Events and Travel at CIEE, where she works with the Work & Travel USA Operations team to plans events all over the world and prepares CIEE staff and clients for overseas trips. She is an Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) Qualified Administrator and facilitates intercultural training and coaching at CIEE.

Phil Simon has worked with CIEE for 13 years and currently oversees CIEE’s work exchange programs which bring some 25,000 exchange visitors to the U.S. every year. Phil hails from England but has spent half of his life in North America.
