More About Portland Paddle:

Portland Paddle offers sea kayak and stand-up paddleboard (SUP) tours, rentals and lessons at the East End Beach on Portland's waterfront. Our goal is to make it easy and affordable for Portland residents and visitors to experience the joys of paddling on Casco Bay. We offer a range of tours explore some of the most interesting and beautiful kayaking destinations in Casco Bay. Our Sunset Tours are offered every evening, and every morning we offer either our Half-Day Tour or Fort Gorges Tour. Our tours are led by licensed Maine Guides who have a wealth of knowledge about the sport of sea kayaking and the rich culture and natural history of the area. Our guided trips are for everyone - from complete beginners to expert kayakers who'd like to become more familiar with the Bay. Find a full calendar of our tours and lessons at portlandpaddle.net. Portland Paddle's rental fleet consist of a diverse mix of high quality kayaks and stand-up paddle-boards. Reservations are optional but recommended, especially if you have a large group. We also create custom trips and events for groups of all sorts, including business teams, bachelorette/bachelor parties, large families and camp groups. We can create a trip that fits the interests and goals of your group. Rentals and tours also available at Crescent Beach State Park. Portland Paddle's main site is based beside the East End Beach on the Portland waterfront. Find us at the very end of Cutter Street, which crosses through the beautiful Eastern Promenade park. We are located at the very end of Cutter Street, where the road meets the ocean. Our shop is seasonal and does not have a street number. We're a short walk or drive from downtown Portland.

Fort Gorges, a Civil-War-era granite fort surrounded by water, is one of the most fascinating spots in Casco Bay, and it's only accessible by small boat! This three-hour trip from Portland Paddle is similar to the outfitter's Half-Day Tour but slightly shorter.

You'll start off with a paddle into Portland harbor and then make the crossing out to Hog Island, where the group will land on a beach and have plenty of time for exploring the dark, winding granite halls and towering lookouts of Fort Gorges. Enjoy the gorgeous view of the city skyline from the rooftop! Your knowledgeable guide will tell you all about the Fort's storied history.
