1. Visit our lovely beaches! The Town of Scarborough has beautiful beaches for everyone to enjoy:

  • Ferry Beach has a safe beach with smaller waves so perfect for families with small children.
  • Higgins Beach is a surfer’s delight.
  • Pine Point Beach is next door to Old Orchard Beach.
  • Scarborough Beach State Park offers boogie boards, chairs, and umbrellas to rent.

2. The Scarborough Marsh is a 3,100 acre saltwater marsh and the largest in Maine. It is a stopover on the Atlantic Flyway so you can see many birds migrating during the spring and fall seasons.

  • Bird watchers can delight in stopping by the Audubon Center to rent a canoe and enjoy a great afternoon on the water.
  • Or take a full moon canoe tour through the Scarborough Marsh.

3. Enjoy the outdoors! Enjoy walking in a local park, walk along Prouts Neck Cliff Walk and Wildlife Sanctuary where Winslow Homer strolled. Visit to get maps of the following public trails conserved by Scarborough Land Trust:
