Ms. Emerson describes the concert in this way: This special concert for Mother’s Day weekend honors the women and men who support and love unconditionally, and who share maternal guidance with children young and old. Birth parents, adoptive parents, and dear people who serve by encouraging and protecting the ones they hold dear brighten all our lives. We cherish them in return.

This concert will celebrate them. Kotzschmar Organ Executive Director, Shireen Shahawy, offered the following, “Ms. Emerson was scheduled to join us for our August 2020 Organ Festival. We were heartbroken when the pandemic forced us to cancel the event last year, but we all knew we wanted to find a way to bring her back to Maine. If you follow her in the organ press, you see what a star she is. She has a following, and it’s very exciting for us to know that it all started here in Maine. In fact, she studied with (former) Portland Municipal Organist Ray Cornils in her younger years. We think she will be the perfect gateway to Mother’s Day and summertime family celebrations of all kinds. There will be something for everyone to embrace in this concert.”

Tickets are offered on a Pay-What-You-Choose model and begin at $10 (plus applicable service fees). They are available through PortTIX, online at PortTIX.com or by phone at 207.842.0800.
