RIPPLEFFECT
Rippleffect’s Cow Island is a unique 26 acre venue in Casco Bay surrounded by stands of oak, birch, and pine. We offer an array of activities for your enjoyment including sea-kayaking, zip-lining, outdoor meeting space, fabulous food and rustic accommodations.
Cow Island is home to Fort Lyon, the historic 1907 Military installation that has been transformed into an eco-retreat center for the Southern Maine community. With Casco Bay as the backdrop our experienced staff will facilitate a program to meet your specific needs. All proceeds from Fort Lyon events and programs provide scholarships and operational support for our youth programs.
Join us for our Sails and Tails, a collaboration with our friends at the Portland Schooner Company each summer.
Enjoy a traditional lobster bake on beautiful Cow Island when you join us for an unforgettable experience. Your transportation will be aboard the beautiful Bagheera or Wendameen. Your mid-morning sail (10am-2pm) takes you to scenic Cow Island, where you will partake in a delicious lobster bake. Return to the mainland in the afternoon refreshed, enlightened and richer for this quintessential Maine experience.
Please contact us to purchase tickets and reserve space for your group.
Our weekend retreats offer adult groups the opportunity to relax and enjoy the camaraderie of shared group activities in an outdoor setting. Cow Island prides itself on our gourmet meals prepared by our Executive Chef in our full- service professional kitchen. He can create anything from a simple lunch to a traditional Maine lobster bake. We also have four yurts on the island that can accommodate up to 40 people comfortably as well as additional sleeping space in our historic bunkers. Cow Island’s rustic setting can accommodate a variety of groups and activities and has something for everyone.
