The Portland Symphony Orchestra invites you to discover our long and proud tradition of bringing professional excellence to live orchestral music in Maine.

We perform a wide variety of concerts, frequently featuring world-class guest artists, at the beautiful Merrill Auditorium.

Our flagship series is Tuesday Classical, where we present great masterworks of symphonic literature such as Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and Dvorak’s New World Symphony. We also offer delightful Sunday Classical matinees in a relaxed atmosphere, featuring Haydn, Mozart, Brahms and more. The hottest Pops shows parade across a spectrum of styles, from Broadway to The Beatles, Hollywood to Halloween.

Our summer concerts are located in some of southern Maine’s most beautiful outdoor settings. And we celebrate the holidays in high style at 'Magic of Christmas,' a beloved New England holiday tradition for over 25 years.
