Museum at Portland Head Light, Cape Elizabeth, Maine

Portland Head Light is a historic lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth that sits at the entrance of the shipping channel into Casco Bay. The headlight was the first built by the United States government, and is now a part of Fort Williams Park.
The Museum at Portland Head Light is contained within the former Keepers' Quarters. The award winning Museum contains a number of lighthouse lenses and interpretative displays.
The adjacent ninety acre Fort Williams Park offers picnic facilities, hiking opportunities, sports and recreation areas, historic fort structures, and unlimited ocean views.
The Museum at Portland Head Light and the Gift Shop are open daily from Memorial Day through October 31st; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
From mid April to Memorial Day and November through mid-December open weekends only 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The admission fee is $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children age 6-18. Children younger than 6 are free.
