Q: I am looking to obtain photos for a story I am working on? How do I go about getting hi-res copies and how long does it take?
It is very easy to access our online
photo gallery. Click here and register for a password. You will be emailed back within 2 business days with a password that will give you access to all hi-res photos.
Q: Do you have a program in place that will allow me to visit area attractions at little or no cost?
The GPCVB has an Ambassador Pass program that allow the holder of the pass one complimentary entry to all of the attractions listed within. All participating businesses are grouped in categories. Topics include Sports & Adventure, Spectator Sports, Scenic Train Excursions, Transportation Museums, Historic Sites, Maritime Museums, Natural Attractions, Museums, Tours, Sea Excursions, Historic Holmes, Entertainment and Transportation. There are approximately 40 attractions listed on the pass. These passes are issued strictly to Travel Writers, Qualified Media, Meeting Planners, Tour Operations, Travel Agents, Visitor Information Specialists, Train Hosts and Museum Docents.
Q: Do you have a press kit? If so, what topics are covered and what format is it available in?
We do have a press kit and topics covered include: An overview of Greater Portland, Culinary Destination, Arts & Culture, Excursions beyond Greater Portland, Outdoors, Media, On the Water, Past, Present and History. For a copy mailed to you please

Q: I am looking for a story angle to pitch to a few different publications, can you give me some ideas?
The best place to get ideas from is the Story Ideas sheet. It is a great introduction to topics that are specific to Greater Portland.
Q: What types of opportunities are there for Familiarization tours?
We generally organize small, more intimate tours throughout the year. The inquiring travel writer needs to have proof of assignment and can contact our
PR representative for availability and more information. The Greater Portland CVB also work closely with the Maine Office of Tourism and other area hotels, inn, etc. who are already working with travel writers.
The Greater Portland CVB does seek qualified writers to attend
Harvest on the Harbor, Maine's premier food and wine experience. This event will take place October 23-26, 2013. If you are interested in being considered to cover this show, please
email us. All writers who are chosen to cover Harvest on the Harbor need to guarantee placement in their prospective publication(s).

Q: Do you have b-roll that you lend out to media? If so how do I go about borrowing it?
The GPCVB provides free footage of Greater Portland to media. Footage includes the Old Port, ariel shots from the Eastern Prom including the Observatory, horse and buggy rides, lobster boat and trap, shorelines and sailboats, Deering Oaks Park, Portland Headlight, beaches, kayaking, Sea Dogs Game, and Long Wharf.
